If more than two people occupy a cottage (using the bed-settee or a slideaway bed ), there is a supplement of £5 per night (minimum £10).

In one cottage (Begrum), dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. We charge £10 for the extra cleaning involved. A secure kennel is available on site for use free of charge. Please inform us if you wish to bring a dog, since we restrict access by pets so that guests who travel without a pet can enjoy non-smoking accommodation from which all pets are excluded.

At Burnbrae, we try to avoid using more resources than we contribute by growing fuel for the heating stoves. We wish to supply without additional charge the electricity and firewood needed to make our guests comfortable. To encourage considerate use of energy from non-renewable sources, we would charge for any substantial excess use of electricity above the average use for the month concerned. In fact, none of our guests has been charged extra for electricity because no guest has  made excessive use of it, even in unseasonably cool weather. The cottages are well insulated and easily kept warm.

When we accept your reservation request and fee, we have contracted with you to make the accommodation available and you have contracted to pay the full cost, even if you are not able to make use of the accommodation for the period reserved. If you cancel your reservation in writing either before or after paying the full cost, we  will try to let the accommodation to others and, if we succeed, then we may refund a part of what you have paid. We can provide information about cancellation insurance.
